EIRE
tam in hand,
shillelagh
by his side,
bent slightly east
as goes the beech tree.
Weathered face,
eyes living
in the past.
Tweed jacket parted,
reveals a rose
placed on
sunken soil.
Ogma,
god of poetry
prompts his litany.
Head bowed,
sign of the cross,
shillelagh steadies
his quivering body.
Do not approach,
his aura cries,
Man from Eire,
leave him be.

At What Cost
There have been times
when I questioned
our love for each other.
Anger, words that hurt,
confusion, misunderstandings,
all a part of life.
Life, becomes an art
of living
in this stressful world,
attempting to make sense
of it all.
We often find ourselves
trying to relieve
the pain of others
at the risk of
hurting each other.
Would our life, our
time together
be enhanced,
if we withdrew
within ourselves?
I believe, we enhance
who we are, seeing
the world through
loving eyes.

a child's ballet
a childs’ ballet
she pirouetted
across
the room
like
angel dust
flowing
from heaven
unnerved
by the rising water
her forced smile
belied by tears
hands reaching
toward heaven
sending spirit
to God
fulfilling a promise
to dance
and not despair
after Katrina
whisked grandmother
away

Awareness
Awareness
Is not what you
See
It is the
Knowing
0f your vision.
It is not what you
Feel
It is the
Knowing
of your touch
Hear
It is the
Knowing
of listening
It is not what you
Say
It is the
Knowing
of speech
AWARENESS
IS
AWAKENING

Chaos
Chaos
prevails now,
flickering candles
continue to burn
moving with the air
of uncertainty.
Be still,
Be silent,
Go within,
to find your peace.

Poetry, Essays and Whatever
"Ramblings of an Idiot," is a 20 year autobiography that starts at the END of a 25 year relationship. The Middle is a journey down life's path as a single person, searching for who I was and where I was going. A revived passion for living emerged through new friendships and meaningful relationships. My horizons broadened and I found a new Beginning.
"Ramblings from Within," is a continuation of life's experiences involving the onset of aging, new challenges and previously unknown paths exposed through spirituality. An acceptance of what is and hope for what is to come.
I sincerely hope you enjoy reading my work and I would appreciate any Constructive criticism.
